I have been absent lately. This is why:

On Friday night, our cat got out. Long story short, three young boys chased her off in an attempt to "help" get her. This week has been such a roller coaster of emotions, as I'm sure you can understand. I go from being optimistic, to being at peace, and then crying my eyes out because my kitty is missing, and then a kind of sarcastic aloof because she's playing me for a fool right now.

Everyone keeps telling me she will come back. Ryan and I found her collar by my car 3 days after she went missing. I know she's coming back. I just have to see her do it. Which is really difficult with a full time job. I'm currently renting a humane cat trap to try and catch her in the middle of the night, but so far I've just had to get up at 3:30AM to release a stray and pray that it didn't give me rabies in the process.

At this point, I'm moving on to a better attitude. I think. I'm starting to believe that I was meant to learn from this. I've realized that my neighborhood is full of good people minus three kids who scared my cat in the first place. I have not met one person who has been unfazed when they see me looking for my cat. The surrounding apartments all know to be on the lookout for her. I met two retired men in the park who feed the strays and said they are looking for her, and that they spread the word to people they know who feed cats. Her CL ad has been shared on facebook by people I don't even know. My neighbors have volunteered to help us search the area. I mean, really. No one needs to care about my cat, but everyone does. It honestly has made this whole ordeal so much better, knowing how many people have lent their eyes and their hearts to us in this situation.

Sorry, this is a Debbie Downer kind of post. I have a lot of stuff I'm excited to blog about, but this was an emotional roadblock for me that I needed to address. Let's distract ourselves with positives, okay?! Some things I'm excited for:
- possibly adopting another cat (we were planning on it before Eva went MIA)
- new lipsticks I am excited for
- my new camera oh my god I am so excited
- roadtrip to Bodega Bay
